Youth Homelessness Matters Day Tas 2012 Report

Youth Homelessness Matters Day (YHMD) is an annual campaign organised by the National Youth Coalition for Housing (NYCH) nationwide. This event aspires to raise public awareness regarding youth homelessness and to celebrate the resilience of youth who are at risk of or who have experienced homelessness in Australia. The annual event also raises the alarm to the public about the facts and figures about youth homelessness.

As the peak body for the non-government youth sector in Tasmania, the Youth Network of Tasmania (YNOT) represents the state on the National Youth Coalition for Housing (NYCH) and coordinates the event in Tasmania.

YNOT’s event was the YHMD Launch event for Tasmania for YHMD. However, there were other events around Tasmania on the day too.
