Inform RACT's work to improve learner driving experiences for young people!
When is the consultation? 5PM-7PM, Tuesday 4 November
How long are applications open? Until 11:59PM, Monday 27 October
RACT are working on a project aimed at reducing road crashes involving young people. As part of this, they want to hear from young people about their experiences of learning to drive – especially their relationship with their driver supervisor.
We’re partnering with RACT to run a one-off online consultation session for young people who have learned, or are currently learning, to drive. We’re recruiting 8-12 young people aged 15-25 from across Tasmania to take part.
Your voice can help shape better tools, resources, and systems to support driver supervisors in their role.
By joining the Youth Road Safety Project, you’ll help make sure the RACT’s learner driver resources reflect the real-life experiences and views of young people – like you!
We’re looking for young people who:
-
Are 15-25 years of age
-
Have lived experience of learning to drive (currently or recently holding a L, P1, P2, or full driver's license)
-
Are open to working with other young people and being a part of group discussions
-
Are happy to share their thoughts and ideas to help enhance the project
-
Have access to a computer or laptop to join meeting
You might help with things like:
-
Sharing your experiences as a learner driver
-
Providing feedback on how supervisors can support learner drivers
-
Discussing ideas on what could help make road safety more relevant or meaningful for young people
Why should you join?
-
Build leadership and teamwork skills
-
Grow skills in self-advocacy (speaking up) and communication
-
Meet and have fun with like-minded young people
-
Get paid $35/hr for your time and expertise
