Help create a guide for adults to include young people when making decisions!
We’re looking for nine young people aged 12-25 years from across Tasmania to help us create a new Youth Participation and Empowerment Guide – a practical tool for adults to better include young people in decision-making.
By joining our Youth Steering Group, you’ll help make sure the Guide reflects the real-life voices, views and experiences of young people – like you!
We’re looking for young people who:
- Are open to working with other young people and being a part of group discussions.
- Are happy to share their thoughts and ideas to help shape the guide.
- Can commit to joining regular online meetings.
- Have access to a computer or laptop to join meetings
No experience needed! Just bring your ideas and willingness to help inform the guide.
You might help with things like:
- Giving feedback on ideas and draft documents
- Planning how we ask other young people for their feedback and input
- Share your views on how we communicate and share information in youth-friendly ways
- Launching the Guide once it’s finished!
Why should you join?
- Build leadership and teamwork skills
- Grow skills in self-advocacy (speaking up) and communication
- Influence government decision-makers and gain experience making decisions
- Meet and have fun with like-minded young people
- Get paid for your time and expertise – with members paid $35/hr for per meeting

- Online meetings will be held every 4-6 weeks for 1-2 hours per meeting,
