Libraries Tasmania and YNOT are working together to provide young people aged 15-25 with opportunities to influence library programs, services and spaces.

We are seeking 6 young people to join an online Youth Advisory Group to help shape this work!

As a Youth Advisory Group member, you will:

  • Create a youth-friendly statewide survey for young people to share their feedback and ideas on library services
  • Help design small group workshops to hear young people’s views
  • Shape posters and information for young people, including language, design and content
  • Support evaluation and reporting of our youth participation activities.

How the group works

  • Attend 4 x 1 hour online meetings between February and April 2026
  • Meetings will be held on Tuesdays or Thursdays, after 4pm
  • Members are paid $35 per hour for each meeting attended
  • Members are expected to review documents before each meeting; preparation time is voluntary and unpaid. We expect this will take around 30 minutes per meeting.

How to get involved

This opportunity is open to young people aged 15-25 who currently live in Tasmania. No previous experience is required, but you must be a library user or have knowledge of Libraries Tasmania services and be comfortable speaking up in a small group.

Applications close: Wednesday 18 February 2026.

To apply: complete a short online form (takes less than 5 minutes). We will ask you to tell us a little bit about yourself, why you'd like to be involved and which days and times you can attend the online meetings.

Contact YNOT Project Manager Jo for more info at jo@ynot.org.au or 0488 235 511.
