Tanya Brooks-Cooper

Tanya is the co-founder of Grace & Grit Training, a Tasmanian not-for-profit social enterprise delivering evidence-based training and capacity building to community sector organisations across the state. She also works at Baptcare Tasmania across family support, youth, and kinship care programs. Tanya brings close to 34 years of experience in the community sector spanning child protection, family violence, youth justice, disability, community development, and government policy across Queensland and Tasmania. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Human Services) from James Cook University and is Tasmania's only active certified Safe & Together CORE Trainer. She has worked alongside young people in a wide range of contexts throughout her career, from early roles supporting young people in Cairns to leading Communities for Children programs across four Tasmanian regions. Tanya is a passionate advocate for system change, having presented before the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Social Policy and Legal Affairs, and contributing to numerous policy submissions and reviews at state and national level.
